Eddie & Michelle... on the river

Saturday, November 14th 2009 Eddie and Michelle tied the knot, FINALLY :) Where else would Eddie and Michelle celebrate this joyous occasion? Well, none other than the lounge/bar that you will always catch them at almost every Friday for happy hour! Finnegan's River! For those who have been there must be thinking, "a wedding at Finnegan's???" Yea, I thought the same... lol until they took me to scope out Finnegan's top terrace where they envisioned their reception to take place. I was floored on what a beautiful view this place had of the Miami lights and river. Definitely a hidden gem. Michelle and Eddie hired me to do their full planning, and boy was I excited especially after visiting their venue. I just love when a couple trusts me so much to take care of and make the decisions of all the details. I had been looking forward to this wedding since for oh so long!! Their colors were apple green and yellow with a river like theme, after all, their reception was right next to the Miami river. The weather was PERFECT, my only enemy that day was the gusts of wind that were blowing out all the candles! But I would take blown out candles over a rainy day anytime!

Beautiful Shot of their church:

At Finnegans...

Their centerpieces consisted of 3 cylinders filled with river rocks and water and floating candles... the tall cylinder had a Beta fish swimming around which the guests took home at the end of the night!

Apples and leaves were used as escort cards which apparently also served as snacks since guests were munching them away lol

River Rocks were used as their "guest book" as guests left their kind words on rocks

Their beautiful and delicious cake by Sweets By Janina

Michelle and Eddie and her infamous feather inspired by "Carrie Bradshaw" in Sex and The City, only Michelle and Sarah Jessica Parker can pull this off.... Michelle looked stunning!

Michelle and Eddie: Thank you so much for letting me be a part of such an important day for you both and of course for Sabrina as well. I had so much fun planning this special day for you and feel so honored that you let me handle it all. Congratulations and may God Bless your marriage and family! Michelle, please let me know how your plane ride to Europe went! :D

Barby and Carlos tie the knot!

Barby and Carlos met back in 2006 by a mutual friend that knew Barby since middle school and knew Carlos since elementary. This friend knew that there would be an immediate connection once they met. The friend was right because 3 years later they tied the knot! By the way, that friend... is ME :) Carlos proposed nearly two months after my own wedding just when I was going through planning withdrawl from my own planning (lol) so it was perfect timing! I immediately went into planning mode! It was so much fun planning this wedding from Day One with them, after all I am responsible for this love connection :o)

On Saturday August 1st, 2009, Barby and Carlos said their I Do's at the church of St. Rose of Lima in Miami Shores with their reception held at the Coral Gables Woman's Club. Barby wanted wanted her reception to have that romantic feel, and she got it! The tables and chair covers were ivory linens with latte chair sashes, centerpieces were 3 water filled cylinders with a floating hot pink orchid and candle in each. The room was dimmed as low as sight can bare with hot pink up lighting giving the room the romantic touch!

Here are some pics to share:

Maggie & Luis' Tropical Chic Wedding

Saturday, July 25, 2009 Maggie and Luis tied the knot whether mother nature liked it or not! Maggie and Luis' vision of their big day was to have their nuptials on the beach with some nice ocean breeze, however, living in good ole' Florida that's a risky gamble to take in the summer with mother nature! Unfortunately, they did not have their beach front wedding because of the weather :( The ceremony took place in the Tiffany Ballroom in Newport Beachside Resort, still giving it a "beachy" feel with some shells and starfish decor on the aisle seats. The ceremony was still beautiful but not more beautiful than the bride herself! Maggie looked stunning and you can just tell by the look of her hubby's face at the end of the aisle! Following the ceremony was their fantabulous reception! Here are some pics of their day:

..And here's the happy couple...

Maggie and Luis: Thank you so much for letting me be part of your special day! Wish you a happy and healthy life together! :) Congratulations!

My new Website!

So I have been working on getting a site together and have it up and running! Here it is! YAY! http://www.myohmyevents.com/ I will probably make some changes here and there but I have to say I love my cute lil' site :)

I want to thank Nicole from Pink Designs Events for creating my logo. I gave her a clean canvas and briefly told here what I wanted and she created exactly what I envisioned! She also does Monograms and designs invites plus a lot more stuff. I truly love her work, she's definitely won a spot in my favorite vendor list! ::Shout out to Nicole:: wOOt wOOt!

This weekend plans...
Saturday- I am going to visit a venue in Homestead, will post pics soon.
Sunday- going to help Elizabeth from Photography by John Paul prepare for the bridal show she has organized, Behind the Veil. Should be tons of fun!

Come back after the weekend to see some pics!

Introducing Diana from My Oh My...Events

It all started in 2002 when my big brother proposed to my now sister in law, Katy... The minute he got down on one knee at the 94th Aero Squadron (yes I was there) I knew I was going to be a big part of this planning and I sure was, it was like a magic spark! The planner in me awoke! I had never even been to weddings but I LOVED watching weddings on TV and while waiting in the grocery line I would pick up BRIDE magazines and just imagine how MY big day would look like. I enjoyed helping Katy with her wedding, her shower, and of course her bachelorette party! When their big day had finally come, it was pure insanity for me. I was also a bridesmaids so needless to say I too needed some time to get ready, however, I was running around making sure everything was perfect. To make a LONG story short, I told myself after that day: "No bride nor anyone involved in the wedding should have that stress the day of!" There has to be an easier way to get through this without pulling out your hair! After this event I had helped with other events such as babyshowers, birthdays, themed parties and discovered more and more that party planning was definitely my passion!

In 2007 my beau proposed and the planning began! I immediately joined The Knot and became a regular "knottie" on the SFL boards (Fellow knotties know what that means!) It is then when I learned about Wedding Coordinators and Planners. I thought to myself ,"There is no way I am going to spend money on one, I love planning and being in contol of the details" However being on the The Knot boards for a while I noticed this was one vendor that A LOT of brides had. Hmmm they must be on to something! I then remembered the stress and headache I went through trying to coordinate Katy's wedding while also being a bridesmaid. I definitely did not want anyone going through that on my day! So one of the first vendors I booked was my DOC (Day of Coordinator) Justine from Fabulous Fetes & Events and let me tell you, it was then when I knew that having a DOC is probably the most important vendor to have for your wedding day. I cannot thank Justine enough for letting me enjoy my wedding day without a worry because she took over all the details I had gathered. After the planning was over and only pictures were left to reminisce on what I have to say was the best day of my life, I thought to myself, I love planning, I love helping, and I have to admit I have a creative mind ;) . Lets put all that to good use! Thanks to my husband's support "My Oh My...Events" was born.
